First-opened thirty years ago in an alley in Piraeus and located today in the Mikrolimano Marina, in front of the sea, Lefteris Lazarou’s Varoulko Seaside is the first restaurant in Greece to initiate fish as the star of haute cuisine, winning a Michelin star in 2002 that has stayed with it since (the first Michelin star awarded to a Greek cuisine restaurant). Gaining his experience in ship kitchens, with a pure respect for raw material (especially fish and seafood), Lefteris Lazarou delivers signature dishes out of unknown or “humble” fishes and breaks new ground in creative fish food cooking and Greek gastronomy.
